Client Challenge
Irish Life sought to transform and extend its existing Abbey Street headquarters, creating a pivotal new centre for its Dublin campus while supporting the wider regeneration of the surrounding area. Working with TPBennett, the project reimagined the existing building to provide flexible, contemporary workspace, improve the customer experience and achieve ambitious sustainability targets.
Hyceon’s Solution
The complex cut-and-carve refurbishment retained and adapted the existing structure while increasing capacity and fundamentally reshaping how the building works. A section of the existing second-floor podium garden was raised to create a pavilion roof, bringing daylight into a new triple-height restaurant and assembly space below. Additional floors extend the existing building blocks, while a new central atrium and open stairs connect the workplace vertically.rnrnRooftop gardens and landscaped terraces support employee wellbeing, complemented by extensive leisure and cyclist facilities. The completed project demonstrates how considered architectural intervention can sustainably reposition an existing commercial asset for its next generation of use.
